Project highlights
Technical
The project, located 350km from Alice Springs, was to extend the
bitumen from Alice Springs to Yuendumu by 20km.
Employment
The project employed around 30 people, of which 25 were
Aboriginal and more than half were from Yuendumu and Alice Springs.
The Arrente Council assisted with selection of people from Alice
Springs.
Safety
The project was completed LTI Free, and there were no incidents
involving any of the road users servicing the Granites and Groundrush
mines, Aboriginal communities or the general travelling public.
